Philosophy:
Postpartum is a unique and special time in the life of the new
family. A postpartum doula can help make this time restful
and healing. A doula understands the challenges and
stresses of caring for a new baby and will help make this
transition easier for the whole family. As your postpartum doula, I will help with basic breastfeeding, newborn
care, light housekeeping and meal preparation.
Bio:
I am the mother of four children ages 12, 10 & 3 years, along with a 23 year old step-daughter. My love of
pregnancy and birth began with my first pregnancy in 1997. I hired a wonderful doula who supported me during
childbirth and then postpartum for several months after the birth of our oldest. She was a wonderful asset, and I
am still thankful for her wisdom and support that remains with me until this day.
I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2002. I interned and worked at Carolinas
Medical Center as a Lactation Consultant from 2000-2007. I am now in private practice providing in-home
lactation consultations. I am also an accredited La Leche League Leader since 1999, currently leading the
Charlotte South group which meets the fourth Thursday of each month. Being intimately involved in
breastfeeding has been a wonderful way to be a part of the birthing process. I believe that they walk hand and
hand.
How many families do you serve each year? Depends on my availability
