Philosophy: Parenting is an amazing and yes, lets be honest, some days exhausting journey! In days gone by
new parents were surrounded by family, friends and neighbors helping out in numerous ways. These days, with
some families living quite a distance from each other and everyone having such busy lives, new parents are
often left on their own. Although this is a wonderful time for family bonding and getting to know your new baby an
extra pair of hands can be invaluable! Not having to worry about household tasks and having someone
knowledgeable and supportive available when needed will allow new parents to concentrate on the more
important tasks like getting to know their newborns as well as getting much needed rest!
Biography: When I gave birth to my first 3 children my husband and mother both worked full time and they were
unable to provide as much help as I would have liked. My mother was able to come and stay with me for a few
days after my 4th child was born. I was able to spend memorable time getting to know my newborn as well as
introducing her to her big sister and brothers in calm, relaxing way without worrying about what I was going to
feed them for lunch or when I would have time to do the laundry. I felt like a queen! 22 years later, I still have
such positive memories of that time. I have also spent the last 13 years providing prenatal and postpartum
support and education on a full time basis. I have had much training in all things postpartum including
breastfeeding, postpartum emotions and newborn care. I am a true believer in the concept of “mothering the
mother.”
