Bio: I took the Bradley Method® classes as a pregnant mom-to-be in September 2005. Olivia was born on February 2, 2006. Her birth was completely natural. Her birth was the most amazing, beautiful, life changing experience. I felt so empowered after it, like I could do anything! With some encouragement from my husband, I decided to get my childbirth education and doula training. I took my Bradley Method® teachers and labor doula training in September 2006. In June of 2007 I took my CAPPA postpartum doula training. I have continued to read and study everything I can about pregnancy and childbirth. I want to encourage women to discover the wonder that birth can be.
Philosophy: I believe that every woman has a right to be informed about all aspects of her pregnancy and labor. I believe she deserves to be taught by women who are there to support and inform her rather that teach her to be compliant. I believe that women have a right to choose where they give birth and who attends them. Birth is a natural process and one of the most beautiful and complex processes in life. I believe it should be honored and respected. I feel birth has a lot to teach those willing to open up and learn from it.
