Bio: I was in the corporate field for over 20 years and, after
a lot of soul searching, finally found my calling as a midwife
and doula. I am happily married to a wonderful man who supports me in every way. I haven’t had any children
of my own, but I truly love them and have a strong desire to help women have healthy pregnancies and to have
the most wonderful experience possible during labor as well as during the postpartum period. I have assisted
with over 60 births (including breech and twins) and caught 20 babies.
Philosophy: I believe that birth is a natural, miraculous event. I feel blessed beyond words to be present
during a birth and I want to be able to teach parents about the process and possibilities so that they may make
the most educated decisions regarding the new addition(s) to their family.
How many births do you attend a year? The number varies.
I serve women birthing in these hospitals: All Charlotte area, Carolina Community Maternity Center, as well
as Union County and homebirths.
How many prenatal and postpartum visits do you provide? Free consultation, 2 prenatal, and two
postpartum visits – depending on the situation, more can be arranged.
Additional Services: Photography of labor, birth, and postpartum if desired; written summary of labor and
birth, and massage.
