experience, Previous experience with families prenatal and

Philosophy: All parents deserve to be provided with the
knowledge and support in labor and the postpartum period.
A non-judgmental supportive doula who understands the trials
and challenges you are facing can assist in making your birth
experience wonderful and the transition to parenthood easy
and stress free. As a Teacher, Mentor, Cheerleader and
Supporter I will fulfill many roles as needed. I believe that birth is
normal and safe and know that women have choices in childbirth –
often more choices than they realize. Education is the key to
mpowerment for a woman during her childbirth year. Medical
interventions are not always necessary for childbirth. I will be there to help you to advocate for your choices in
labor and childbirth. The confidence that you will gain from my knowledge and experience will be priceless to
you in your childbirth journey.
Bio: : I am married to a wonderful man and have 2 grown girls. During my daughter's first birthing experience I
was very blessed to have been able to be with her for 9 weeks before and after my grandson's birth. With her
husband deployed to Iraq, she would have been all alone during that time. I was able to coach her through a 35-
hour labor that due to many interventions resulted in a cesarean. (I now know what I could have done to help her
prevent a cesarean.) I was concerned about PMD but we were able to avoid it and skim through the next few
months until her husband made it home. I nurtured her and taught baby care, breastfeeding and all the other
first-time experiences that new parents go through. I took care of the household and coordinated the efforts of
her friends and neighbors. It was so rewarding to have been there. At that time, I had never heard of a doula.
Several months after that experience, someone mentioned they had hired a postpartum doula and what a
wonderful experience it had been for her family. VOILA! Having never heard of any type of doula, I immediately
started my research and identified my passion. What a joy to provide the information and support necessary for
a new mother to be able to experience the birth she desires and to provide quality care to their newborn!
