Philosophy: I believe that birth is a sacred event and that a woman has an inner wisdom that guides her through
her birth. ! I passionately believe in a woman’s innate, God given ability to birth her baby! I believe a woman has the
right as well as the responsibility to make healthy, informed choices for herself; her pregnancy and her baby, to birth
where and how she chooses and to have people around her that fully support these choices.
I strongly believe in the importance of wondrous, joyful birth memories! I believe that a positive birth experience will
empower new parents in all areas of their lives..
Bio: I have 5 awesome children as well as 3 beautiful, amazing grandchildren (with hope for more to come) I have
been supporting women and families during pregnancy, birth and early parenting for more than 20 years. My first
birth experience was so empowering that I soon became addicted to all things pertaining to birth. I began attending
the birth of family and friends at every opportunity. For the past 13 years I have worked as a doula as well as a
health educator in public health providing in-home pregnancy and parenting education as well as labor support. I
have been a doula since before I knew what a doula was! I believe with all of my heart that this is God’s calling for my
life!
How many births do you attend? 12-15
I serve women birthing in these hospitals: Gaston, Lincoln and Cleveland County, some of Mecklenburg,
I will attend births at CCMC and home births as well.
How many prenatal and postpartum visits do you provide? At least one prenatal visit usually 2 and at least one
postpartum visit. Available for phone contact 24/7 as needed.
Additional services: breastfeeding education and support, Lamaze and Hypnobirthing Childbirth classes.
