Bio: I graduated from UNC-C with a degree
in Psychology and went on to do some
post-graduate work in child and family
development. I think I've always felt a pull
towards childbirth,and attended my first birth
as a labor support person in 2001. I am
currently seeking certification for prenatal/infant massage therapy and hope to integrate
that into my doula practice within the year. I have three beautiful daughters. This is my passion
in life and I feel honored to be at each birth I attend.
Philosophy: I believe childbirth to be a normal, natural process as well as a sacred rite of
passage. I also feel that every birth is a unique journey, requiring an individual approach. I strive
to support women and their partners/families by educating and informing them of the many and
various options available. In my opinion, every woman deserves an empowering birth experience
and I hope to help every woman I support find her own voice and inner strength.
How many births do you attend a year? 15-20 at this time
I serve women birthing in these hospitals: Any, within an hour or so radius of Charlotte.
Homebirthers welcome too.
How many prenatal and postpartum visits do you provide? Up to 3 prenatal and one
postpartum visit.
