Bio: I attended my first birth as a support person in 2001, and knew from that moment that birth
work was my calling. My feelings have never changed! Attending births is more than a job for me;
it is a way of life. I love being a doula. I also love being a stay at home mom to my four children:
twin boys born at a hospital, a girl born at a birth center, and a girl born at home.
Philosophy: First and foremost, I believe that birth is normal and safe. I believe that women
have choices in childbirth – often more choices than they realize -- and that birth awareness and
education is empowerment. I also believe that medical tools can be helpful, when they are used
under appropriate circumstances. Finally, I have the utmost faith in a mother's intuition.
How many births do you attend? 10-20 per year
I serve women birthing in these hospitals: Any within an hour or 2 of Charlotte. Also,
homebirths!
How many prenatal and postpartum visits do you provide? 2 prenatals visits, 2 postpartum
visits
Additional Services: Experienced with twin moms, VBAC, and BFAR (breastfeeding after
reduction) moms
