Trainings/Certifications: DONA Certified Birth Doula,
Lactation Training
Bio: I am a stay at home mom that has a passion for pregnancy
and mothers of infants/preschoolers. My first peek into childbirth
came when I was 16 years old and then again at 18 when I
attended my sister’s deliveries of my nephews. I was intrigued
and cried at the miracle of life. I began attending births soon after the birth of my second child but did not
actively begin my official doula training until 2006. I have since been certified through DONA (Doulas of North
America). I have served a variety of clients including; first time moms, vaginal births after cesareans (VBAC),
twins, post-date pregnancy, teens, 40+ and planned unavoidable cesareans. I have worked with moms using
several birthing techniques including Bradley, Hypnobirthing, Hypnobabies, Lamaze and others.
It is my honor and pleasure to support women through their empowering rite of passage into motherhood.
Becoming a doula is an answer to my calling where I give women comfort and support that they deserve during
pregnancy, labor and delivery. I feel very blessed to be doing what I love.
Philosophy: Every birth experience is unique, beautiful and unpredictable. As an educated advocate I can
help the couple to make informed choices and become active birth participants. I consider myself part of a
team with the others who are attending the birth, working together for the goals that the laboring mom has set
forth. This includes knowing and understanding her desires in her birth plan and helping her to make informed
decisions when needed. I work closely with husbands/partners to help them be effectively involved while still
keeping in mind their comfort level.
