Bio: I was born in Charlotte. I graduated form Providence High School in 1990 and after
spending a year overseas, attended Columbia College in Columbia, SC. I later transferred to a
school in New York, and after graduating with a degree in Education, I began working as a
teacher. I spent a year with my husband teaching primary school. It was there that I gave birth
to my first child. I delivered him underwater, attended by midwives, and learned how peaceful
birthing can be. I have since had three other babies who are now nine, eight, six and two years
old. When I was pregnant with my eight-year-old, I trained to become a labor support doula,
with DONA in New Jersey and have worked as a doula in New York since then. In August of
2007 I relocated my family to Charlotte. We are thrilled to be here! I look forward to helping
many more families have the kind of birth they dream of.
How many births do you attend a year? 6-8

How many prenatal and postpartum visits do you provide? 2 prenatal and 1 postpartum
